Anesthesia Awareness
I just read about this lady who woke up during serious eye surgery. They were removing her diseased eye and she woke up. She heard disco music and heard talking. At first, she didn't feel any pain, but when they injected her with some kind of drug, she felt like she was on fire. She wasn't able to let anybody know because she couldn't move. She said she screamed, but no one heard her. She knew when they cut her optic nerve because everything went black. She could hear a doctor say she moved. This happened 12 years ago and she got Post -Traumatic Stress Disorder from the situation. She has since had some surgeries, but it has not happened again because she insists on having a brain monitor. She started a group of anesthesia aware people and she has 5,000 members. In her research on this subject, she found that it happens most to natural redheads. So watch out all you natural gingers. That may be a way to see which redheads dye their hair. What would you do if this happened to you? I would break my restraints and flail my arms and kick with my legs and scream for help. They would know I was awake. They would have to put down their chicken legs and tend to the patient.
